Abstract:

This survey paper explores the dynamic landscape of initiatives utilizing Information and Communication Technology (ICT) solutions to address Target 1.1 of Sustainable Development Goal 1 (SDG 1) – eradicating extreme poverty by 2030. Focusing on individuals living on less than $1.90 a day, the paper conducts an in-depth analysis of ICT-driven techniques implemented globally.

Through a systematic review of existing literature, policy documents, and case studies, the survey sheds light on the role of ICT in transforming poverty eradication efforts. The methodology involves scrutinizing diverse ICT solutions adopted by countries, international organizations, and non-governmental entities to uplift individuals from poverty. Key areas explored include the impact of mobile banking, digital literacy programs, and innovative data analytics in addressing root causes.

The paper not only identifies successful ICT interventions and best practices but also emphasizes their potential to bridge regional disparities.
